Future support for direct drag & drop image upload in Strapi's Rich Text Editor

I'm currently building a CMS using Strapi. While crafting articles using Strapi's rich text editor, I find myself wishing for the ability to directly upload images via drag and drop, which would make my work significantly easier. However, as far as I understand, to upload images in Strapi, one needs to go through the media library first.
Because of this, I'm wondering if the Strapi development team has any plans to introduce a feature for direct drag and drop image upload into the rich text editor in the future? I believe such a feature would make content creation more intuitive and efficient. I look forward to your response.

🎉 Good news: since Strapi 5.61 you can drag and drop images straight into the Blocks editor. They upload to the Media Library and land as image blocks where you drop them.
This works in the Blocks editor only for now, not in the Markdown editor.
Upgrade to v5.61.0 to try it, here are the release notes. Thanks for the idea, and tell us in the comments how it works for you!
